Today is a great day. On this day, two years ago we brought, Christopher, our first son, home. He was 3 1/2 months old. Just when we thought life could not be any better, Matteo was born. Tomorrow, with Matteo’s birth mother, Sara, in attendance, we finalize his adoption. We are excited beyond belief, and [...]

The date is almost here!

Adoption Connection notified us last week that our post-placement paperwork was complete. They were submitting the final report to the court. Our attorney, Marc Gradstein, notified us this morning that we have a court date in less than three weeks. Wow!

Here’s to hoping it gets better…soon

We neglected to share one thing with you regarding Matteo’s last pediatrician’s visit. For the last several weeks, Matteo transforms from a happy-go-lucky baby to an inconsolable infant the next. While these episodes only last roughly 30 to 45 minutes, we find them very disconcerting because 1) the screams/screeches/cries are so high-pitched that it rattles [...]

“Poop”

Recently, he has started telling us “poop” when either he needs to go or has already gone. Okay, 50/50 isn’t bad, until today. At the end [...]

His first month

Just one month ago, Matteo was born. Two days later, we brought him home. Within the first week, he gained an one pound. By now, I suspect he weighs more than a 10 lb sack of potatoes. That’s it…he’s our little potato. When he is awake, which spans the short time it takes to change, [...]

May I have some spicy water, please?

Our morning consisted of getting everyone showered or bathed, dressed and out the door no later than 8:30 a.m. My goal was to stop by Peet’s Coffee for my cappuccino, a scone to share with Christopher, and then head out to SadieDey’s Cafe (formerly Tumble and Tea). I figured we could play until 11:30, head [...]
